We are looking for cast members of all backgrounds, male or female, to host parties and events, or character entertainers that bring the magic of a character to life, both roles play an extremely important role at all events.
This is mainly a weekend work job, we do get the odd weekday booking especially during half term and on the run up to, but we are focused on your weekend availability when it comes to getting the right member of staff.
As a host you are expected to:
* Be able to drive
* Be confident in front of people and on a microphone
* Collect equipment
* Interact with party parent/s on arrival and throughout
* Run the party in terms of hosting party games, controlling the running order of the party from start to finish.
* Keep children engaged the best you can
* Be able to improvise and adjust plans according to surroundings and children
As a Character entertainer:
* Be able to drive ideally, we travel a lot and busses may be difficult, your travel time on busses may be longer
* Research characters portrayed, you will get a small guide on your characters, however your own research would really help you
* Learn character poses and traits
* Be happy to wear make up, and explore with different eye shadows that are the same as the characters (as a female performer)
* Males also expected to wear make up if the character requires
* Must like children and enjoy their company
* Be able to think on the spot and have a good imagination
* Be able to have a conversation with a child
* Smile, always smile
* BRING EVERY CHARACTER TO LIFE !!
We expect all staff to arrive on time to all events, bring everything that is required from you with you (such as tights, wig caps, shoes etc), turn up to your booked event, if you are sick, you are required to let us know as soon as possible to arrive cover, letting a child down for their birthday is not something we ever want to do, check your party manager system regular - which you will be given access to when starting, communicate when needed and be active in the group when the post is in regards to your and your event.
We don't ask for much, just to have fun, and keep in mind that we are a small business and that your behaviour can be extremely damaging to us If you decide not to turn up or act in the wrong manner
In this "job" no day is ever the same, no party the same, or event. We do a lot of different entertainment and have many corporate contracts. You will be able to learn new skills and develop more confidence from your role here at A Whole New World. From stilt walking & twirling, to face painting & bubble performing.
